(Taken in 1955)

Matthayomwatnairong School was first called "Watnairong School", which is the name of the temple where the school is situated. The word "Nairong" was the title of the owner of the theatre which performed the ancient play called "Lakorn Nok" and Chao Grub was his name. His play was one of the most famous plays in the reign of King Rama IV .Chao Grub or Nairong donated his land to build the temple so the name "Wat Nairong" was named after him and it was also the name of the school. Watnairong School was founded on 13 February 1955 on the land between two temples, Wat Nairong and Wat Bangbumru, which is 5 rai 121 square wah (about 2 acres).

The school first opened on 17 May 1955 and used the hall of the temple to be its classrooms. There were 2 classrooms, 77 students, 3 teachers and Mr .Thumrong Komolbut is the first principal. At first, the school had only a Lower Secondary level and in 1978 it also had the Upper Secondary level.
